Marathon Health Continues National Expansion With Additional Virginia Locations
HANOVER COUNTY, VA – Feb. 22, 2024 – Marathon Health, a leading provider of direct primary care for employers and unions in the U.S., has announced its expansion in Hanover County, Virginia, with the opening of its newest Network health center. The organization will celebrate the opening of the Network health center with an official ribbon cutting Thursday, February 22, with its newest partner, Hanover County and Hanover County Public Schools. Marathon Health’s first Network location in Richmond, Virginia, opened in January and a third Network is slated to open in the coming months.
Marathon Health works with employers to build and operate onsite, near-site, Network and virtual health centers. With 680+ health centers in 41 states and over 2.5 million members, the health centers share the same focus: providing high-quality primary care for employees and their families, while reducing the overall cost of healthcare for both the employee and employer.
Network health centers are strategically located close to where employees live and work. Hanover County has partnered with Marathon Health to offer their 7,000 employees, spouses and dependents convenient and affordable access to primary care, preventive care, chronic disease management, health coaching, behavioral health, occupational health, labs, medication management and referral coordination.
“The opening of the new Richmond Network Health Center location in Hanover County will support the healthcare needs of local employers and their employees, providing them with convenient access to high-quality primary care services and significant savings in healthcare costs,” shared Chad Ashcraft, Chief Growth Officer, Marathon Health. “By offering convenient access to primary care services, these health centers will help employees and their families proactively manage their health, leading to improved outcomes and a healthier workforce. With the opening of our second and third location, Marathon Health is making an intentional, long-term investment in improving the health of employees for its clients in the greater Richmond area.”
The expansion reflects Marathon Health’s continued dedication to making a positive impact on communities and employers nationwide. Because the new health centers are part of Marathon Health’s shared Network model, other employers and unions in the surrounding areas can sign on as well. Marathon Health Networks are open to all employers in a region — with no size or industry restrictions — who share a commitment to keeping their community healthy, happy and productive. With the value-based care model, employers and union partners lower healthcare costs by more than 25%.
“Hanover County is committed to the well-being of our employees,” said Hanover County Administrator John A. Budesky. “Partnering with Marathon Health enables us to offer cost-effective quality care while keeping County healthcare expenses at a responsible rate.”
