Through COVID, metastatic prostate cancer, diabetes, atrial fibrillation and anemia diagnoses, I was feeling overwhelmed, tired, sick and in pain. I was falling and I couldn’t walk up the steps in my house to my bedroom.
Medical Assistant Kari Doohen and and Physician Assistant Cora Peine at the Marathon Health and Wellness Center, offered by my employer Johnson Brothers Liquor Co., call me frequently when I need it, sometimes three times per week, sometimes monthly. They help me coordinate my care and remind me when I need to do something, including: annual cardiologist appointments, lab work and refills on medications.
I still see my specialists, but Cora and Kari see my entire body and work so that everything runs smoothly together. They answer the phone when I call, and if they are busy, they call right back. They also call me by my first name when I enter the building. Through their help, I’ve done physical therapy to increase my stamina, radiation to decrease pain from cancer that was in my bones, and I take medication every day and added a new diabetes medicine.
I have never been cared for by anyone like I am cared for by the people at Marathon Health. Because of Kari and Cora, I have a better quality of life. They have added years to my life, and life to my years. They have given me hope. Kari and Cora are right here whenever I need them. They make me feel so good when I am in the center, and I leave with a smile on my face.
I tell everybody that this is the best place to come to. You get more quality care at Marathon Health than anywhere else I know of because they actually take time to listen to you. Appointments are accessible and available when I need them, and the providers are on time. — Bob Brennan, Marathon Health Member
