I was experiencing numbness in my cheek, hand and foot. It was weighing on me that something severe was starting to happen or was going to happen to me, so I went to the Tyson Bright Blue Health Center offered by Marathon Health in Dyersburg, Tennessee, to help diagnose it.
Kelley Burg, nurse practitioner, did a thorough job asking me questions about my symptoms. She also took blood work and began putting in motion next steps like medications and referrals to other medical specialists in my community.
When my symptoms continued to occur, Kelley set up a referral to a Neurologist for a second opinion. After those visits didn’t find anything, Kelley said that she felt that I should see a cardiologist to see if my symptoms were heart-related. After some thorough blood work and testing, they discovered that I had four major coronary artery blockages that needed immediate attention.
Since my surgery, Kelley and the other providers in the office have given me excellent follow-up care. I’ve changed my eating and I am doing rehab to improve my stamina. My health is now great and I am thankful for Kelley, along with Laura Beth Lancaster and Ashley Greenhaw, who are both licensed practical nurses. All three were genuine and caring and I am very appreciative.
My advice? Don’t wait, just go to the health center…it’s that simple. — Craig Borden, Marathon Health member
