Allison Velez

As Chief People Officer at Marathon Health, Allison oversees the development and execution of the organization’s people and talent strategy to support the overall business plan. She is also responsible for leading the development of the company’s growing nationwide workforce. She spearheads all human resources functions, including culture, talent management, strategic recruitment, organizational and performance management, HR technology and analytics, and growth.

Allison is recognized as a strategic and innovative Human Resources leader with over twenty years of experience, ten of which include leading strategic initiatives within the healthcare industry. Before her arrival at Marathon Health, Velez was Head of Human Capital at OptumCare, a division of UnitedHealth Group. Before that, Allison served as Chief People Officer at DaVita Medical Group.

Originally from Hawaii, Velez grew up in Southern California, where she earned a BS in Applied Management from Azusa Pacific University and an MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Colorado.
