Liz DeMatteis is a dynamic leader with experience across a wide range of health tech firms. From her 20+ years of experience, Liz brings holistic health care and company-stage perspective across markets (electrophysiology to self-insured employers), technologies (cell-free DNA testing to real-world evidence SaaS), and environments (F500 to startup). Known for building brands, cultures, and companies, Liz is passionate about advancing health equity and access and a system geared for person-centered, whole-health care.

At West Francis, Liz advises entrepreneurs—ranging from seed stage ventures to massive retail disruptors—focused on transformative technologies. Prior to West Francis, Liz served on the executive teams of five venture-/PE-backed firms; in succession: Papa, Aetion, Included Health, Evolent, and Real Chemistry—all of which achieved 50%+ CAGR during her tenure. 

In the first half of her career, Liz drove R&D investment and global launch strategies within medtech, primarily at Medtronic—including two product launches then deemed the best in the industry’s history.

A passionate lifelong student, Liz advances forums such as DC area-focused Health Tech X that bring diverse thinking to the “big problems in health care” table. Liz earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Montana and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington Foster School of Business.
