Congratulations to our partners the City of Fort Collins for winning the 2017 Governor’s Award for Worksite Wellness!
The City received the award last week during the 10th Annual Colorado Culture of Health Conference Lunch Program. Beginning in 2015, the Colorado Governor’s Council for Active and Healthy Lifestyles partnered with Health Links™ and the Colorado Culture of Health Conference to recognize one outstanding organization in the state to receive the Governor’s Award for Worksite Wellness.
A Top 5 finalist in 2016, this year the City of Fort Collins took the top honor! We’re very proud of the City, its leaders, and its employees for this incredible achievement.
When it comes to creating healthy work environments, Health Links, a nonprofit initiative spearheaded by the Center for Health, Work & Environment at the Colorado School of Public Health and the Council look for employers that create supportive environments that promote healthy and safe employee behaviors. This award recognizes the achievements of employers that have demonstrated a commitment to improving the health of employees, their families, and the community through healthy eating, physical activity, disease prevention, tobacco cessation, mental health, stress management and safety.
Nominees were selected based on their score from their Healthy Business Certification application. The application is scored on the following criteria:
Marathon Health has operated the City’s onsite health center, CityCare, since 2015 and we are honored to work with such a forward-thinking partner. Every bit of this recognition is deserved. Special shout out to the Marathon Health clinical team providing services at the CityCare health center, including clinical director Julianna Taylor, health coach Victoria Emmitt, and medical assistant Sandra Banks. Keep up the great work ambassadors!
And once again congratulations to the City of Fort Collins!
